Shipping a Chameleon

I’m shipping my first chameleon from Miamisburg, Oh to Kansas City tomorrow. I have the box and everything ready , I have all the supplies . the low here is 50 degrees , high is 70. Kansas City has a low of 50 and a high of 85, to be honest I’m not sure what to pack in there . I obviously have packing paper and an insulated box . But just unsure of a heat pack or cooling pack. Or nothing at all. Thanks guys !

You might be fine without them. You do not want to overheat the animal. And no heat pack is necessary if high temp can stay at 70+.

Be sure to ship hub to hub. If you do that you probable want need a cool pack nor heat pack. What company are you shipping with?
Yeah we are shipping from hub to hub . I was going to use FedEx Overnight Priority . Low is 50 high in Kansas City is 87 which what makes me nervous . That’s where he’s headed to, Kansas City . But I would imagine when they are shipped they probably spend very little time out in the elements. Probably sitting in a truck or plane most of the time . First time shipping a reptile just want to make sure I do it right .

What do you think , probably be okay without a heating or cooling pack?

Well cargo planes don’t have heat in the cargo area. When I had mine shipped to me they put a heat pack on the outside of the styrofoam. And that worked fine is was on October 13, from NY to LA.

If you are shipping through Ship Your Reptiles, you can call them and they’ll tell you when’s a good time to ship or not to ship depending on the temperatures.
