Shipping can cause edema?

No. Edema the way I understand it is an internal issue likely caused a lack of, or to much vitamins or such.

I know that is very vague and simplistic, but I dont believe that it is caused or enhanced by stress.

that's what i thought about edema too. From what i read it caused by too much vitamins. But The breeder i bought my new cham from, said it caused by shipping and should be gone after it settle down.

Some people report chams who show slight gular edema off and on (like in a very gravid female, but once the clutch is laid it disappears again), but I've never heard that shipping stress could trigger it. It is a metabolic issue, not simply a stress issue. If this cham happened to have episodes of gular edema before it was sold, that should have been mentioned as part of its health condition. It also seems to be more common in older animals. How old is this cham?

I have never heard of shipping stress causing a gular edema either. I suspect this was an issue prior to shipping. All of my experience with gular edema is with female panthers. I have had 2 that responded to over supplementation with gular edema and it would subside with plenty of water and cutting back on supplements for the affected ones. The rest never showed the same signs with the same dusting schedule and I have never had a male panther present with gular edema.
