Shipping Chameleon ?

As far as shipping chameleons go, I plan to do plenty of research and searching on methods, I've seen a few good ones when I searched.

One of my questions that arises is this:

When you are sending a cham overnight UPS and you insure it, say something were to happen to the cham, and he died, upon collecting for the insured value of the item, do you have to specify its a cham that died? and if so does ups take the dead cham??

any experienced answers will be greatly appreciated as I have a few more simple questions pertaining to this

You are correct. DHL, UPS, FedEx will not cover live animals. Should something die during shipping its on you. The only place that will insure something that is live is Delta I believe and its a pain to get set up to ship with them.

I read online at a breeders website that he is covered if ups screws up.

Can you insure your package, and just not tell them what is in it?

But then if you should need to make a claim, UPS is going to need to know what's in the package right? When they find out it was shipped illegally, then no claims are paid.

I indirectly work for UPS and if I suspect there is something else inside the box than what is stated, I can open it and refuse shipment if need be.

Why don't you call UPS directly. 1.800.PICK.UPS and they can answer all your questions.

because I'd like to understand them from the minds of experienced people...most people that work for ups aren't going to have the knowledge as the best option
