I'm getting a decent check next Friday and I think I'm due for some chameleon upgrades. First a few questions...

I want to add a lot more to his tank. Bushes, plants, vines, branches. Biggest question is can I mix real plants with fake ones? He is a veiled so he likes to munch on his shefflera a lot. I am scared that he will bite into a plastic plant and get sick. I used to have fake plants that he never tried to eat but I'm afraid that if I mix he wont know the difference.

Second part, I'm going to stock up on food for him. As far as gut loading, what are the best greens to get? Specific fruits that are good? Also, is there any fruit/vegetable that is forbidden to use for gut loading?
I need to upgrade his diet variety. Any veggies he will eat directly? Best kind of worms for him? And do I hand feed him worms?

Any advice is helpful and if there any nice additions I can make to his habitat I am all ears.

1. yes you can mix live with fake but with a veiled i would get rid of any fake.

Just a thought, have you been advised to use a tank for your veiled based on your climate area? Assuming by tank you mean a glass aquarium. It is not "typically" recommended to use a glass aquarium for a species such as a veiled unless you have a cold, dry climate like europe. Though many people do use glass, most of them are seasoned experts and are able to make the climate in the tank exactly what the particular species needs.

Ah just used to saying tank. I guess it was meant for more of a generic term. I have a mesh cage, no worries!
