Should I feel guilty?

Well, it's mid October now, and I can't be taking any Lizards out to bask in the garden anymore...........but I'm going to the Canary Islands for a week to sit on the beach and get drunk and stuff. I already feel a bit guilty for leaving the lizards in Hull while I get to go bask .......Not that guilty though obviously :D

10 points if you can tell me what animal the Canary islands are named after:) (and don't just look it up on wikipedia, that's lame )
My Dad has looked after the lizards for a few days before, and he has a list of duties.......he'll be ok for the week.

of course you should not feel guility and the islands are named after dogs. My daughter had this question on a geography test and I remember it from a few years back!

It wasn't a serious test anyway, but 10 points to Carol :)
Okay, so how long did the Hundred Years War last?

You should feel very, very guilty. Not because you are leaving the chams but because I don' t get to go!!:(. You take a nice vacation and I get jury duty. It is all true, life just isn't fair.

haha! I am thinkin this is a trick question and it is not 100 years! I think I remember this one on jeapordy or something.
The first one was a trick question too, you still got it..........anyway it's 116 years in case anyone asks.........

To be honest Laurie, I knew the answers to all the questions already :D I've got nothing to feel guilty about........I hope the poor sucker in court doesn't get judged so harshly.....lol

my own experience from having my brother watch my cham while I was gone.

I know you said you're dad has watched you're cham before with no problems, and I don't know if you have a misting system set up in you're cage, but my experience was with my brother once, when I went away for 2 weeks to canada and left the cham with him, who I specifically stressed the importance of misting the cham several times a day for at least 5-10 minutes till he sees it drink from the leaves. And I also had a waterfall for display reasons in there, and damned if he didn't do as I asked about the misting and he his excuse was it had a waterfall to drink from!!!and assumed the waterfall was enough DUHH!!! Of course the poor little guy died from dehydration due to his not trying to understanding the importance of lots of water misting.
A week is a lot longer than a few days, so just be sure you're dad understands the concept of the water needs and to be sure you're system is working properly, just in case its not working and that he needs to mists continuously. Dehydration is the biggest killer of chams.
My brother was obviously a moron when it came down to it, and I'm assuming you're dad is not! But just heed my experience in case he doesn't understand the concept and importance of water needs. Talking about guilt. Damn if I didn't feel guilty!!:(

Answer What are Canaries?

Only feel guilty if you dont pound a couple back for your ol' pal from Canehda!

I went on a camping trip for four days and my mom stayed at my place to take care of the chams. Well I was glad it was only 4 days. I didnt have a misting system at the time and so when I got home Levi was dehydrated and was drinking from the mister like crazy. She luckily enough was feeding him correctly but i was pretty worried when i got home and found him in a "I'm so thristy I could die" look!! He is doing great now though and my mom felt really bad and offered to pay the vet bill if I had to take him.

Great video .. Scunthorpe is basking in a late bit of sun right now and my little two will be out in the next 30 mins !!!! ..

Shame on you leaving those poor babies in cold wet yorkshire while you bugger off on holiday. Bad bad keeper!! :p Only joking, enjoy it just send them a post card and maybe a prezzie you'll be in their good books again.. :p

As long as you bring me back a tee- shirt you can go guilt free :p have a great time on your vacation Dave!:)

Oh yeah, should have updated this one...... I got back a week ago......the lizards are all good, my Dad did great, and he knows them all a bit better now :)
Which is fortunate really, 'cos I got to go away again for 2 weeks tomorrow (this one is to get money by having drugs tested on me - boring but necessary now that I'm unemployed)
I'm really going to have to get him some sort of present for all his sterling work.......even my locust breeding box is still going ok.....

glad to hear all went well and that your dad has stepped up to the plate. be carfull with the testing mate, wouldnt want to see you grow an extra head or anything LoL
