The horns offer a lot of moisture and vitamins. A mister can be a problem if it is going off too much or too long. In my opinion they really need that fine mist to aid in humidity and cleansing there eyes. If you just did a two -three min mist in the morning and then a couple 1 min mist he would be perfectly fine. That cage needs time to completely dry out. Those panthers need higher humidity just not soaking wet all the time. Super glad he got meds and should make a speedy recovery!!You should check Amazon. They have those little drippers and Big dripper. You can. Get them with shipping for like 10-15 bucks.
If you set them just right you CAN get a good flow. I don't use the tubing that comes with it. Makes it harder for proper dripping. I just set it on top of the cage and let it drip without the tube. Works better.

Silkworms are really good too. Offer a lot of hydration as well and really good vitamin source as well. Natural ways to boost immunity is always the best

I agree a misting system is the best way to offer humidity and showers to chameleon. There are a lot of reasons to have a mister. But from the sounds of it, you have a carpet on the bottom of his cage? Those things harbor tons of bacteria. It's best to do a bare bottom cage and have really good drainage.

Yes you should definitely take him to the vet. It is possible he might have aspirated some water. He can develop secondary drowning from a tiny bit of water in his lungs. This could easily turn into a medical emergency that can't wait even a couple of hours.

Due to Carl getting sick i was thinking of replacing all the synthetic vines and thoroughly cleaning both of his plants as well as disinfecting his enclosure.
what would be the best cleaning agent for his cage?
is replacing the synthetic vines a good idea or should i just clean them?
if i replace them what is better than the bendable cardboard and coated vines?

Next time you ever take him to the vet, do him a huge favor and put his container in a dark bag or box. You stressed the heck out of him moving him like that and he has enough problems to start with. You can also wad up paper towels, bendy vines or natural sticks to give him something to grab on to. Even a twist of newspaper curled around at the bottom would have helped him. I believe they are more stressed when they are on a flat, open surface like you kept him for the drive.
You can replace things in his cage, but the more importantly, you should try not to stress him. There are certain parasites I would be doing a complete cage clean, but not too many things would make me want to add any stress to him at all.
What did the vet say/do?

the vet said to stop the misting system and let him drink from the spray bottle (thats what he likes the most he practically eats the nozzle) and he is on an antibiotic. he is back in is cage now and seems to be doing quite well he is more active today compared to the past few. i will be back in NJ on Friday and his cage is getting a strict cleaning on Saturday. my wife has not told me exactly what the vet had said yet because they got back in a 1am the vet is 2 hours away from their location
