Great Pics of the Stud Muffin :)

Are you sure that isn't a cold shower Royden? I brought some females over to Royden's place last Saturday for Yoda to choose from. Yoda is quite the gentleman during the whole breeding process. He's a real "Smooth Operator" with the ladies. How long did the head bobbing thing go on after we left?

He needed a cold shower that's for sure. He bobbed his head at me for the whole remainder of the day. His colors stayed bright and vibrant. And yesterday he acted so strange...wandering around every single part of his cage ...looking for the gorgeous pink lady with the short little tail. I've never seen him actually straining to look behind the plant pot like that. Funniest thing.

:)

I need to bred him more often. It really kind of calmed him down in a way.

dondeb562 - These are taken with a rebel xti and a 60mm macro and a 580ex speedlite flash. They're shot at 1/4000th of a second at f 7.1 (for you dslr snobs out there). This is one of the times that I would say that you can't do this with a point and shoot. Most p&s's can't speed up their shutter that fast.

cainschams - Gorgeous photography from your uncle. That stuff is very inspiring.

Brrrrrriiiiiiiiilllliiiiiaaannnnnntttt...... !!!!!!!! way to Gooo00000OOOOOOO.

Thanks for sharing.

I will learn one day.

Great pics Royden. You need to make Yoda a freerange. Jann

Awesome shots. Looks like a shampoo comercial...Herbal Essance...lol. On a side note, can you recommend a starter camera that can take some high speed shots like yours. Also what is a good starter lighting kit?

Great shots. I like the last one. Word on the tree branches is he has his own fragrance coming out? Keep up the great work with your photography.

Mt dslr is really a starter. It's marketed as a consumer camera not a professional camera. You can't really buy an slr cheaper then the rebel xti. (or xsi)

As for flashes, I'm not sure. The canon 580ex is not a starter flash..but after buying a 420ex I quickly realized that it didn't accomplish what I wanted. However the 420 is technically the lowest end flash you can buy for the rebel. The 580 and the 550 (and maybe even the 430) have manual settings so you can turn the power up and down depending on the scene.

The speedlight was not mounted on the camera, correct?

Cool shots!:)

It actually was. I just bounced it off of the shower wall since the whole shower is white. I was sure I'd get enough diffusion on top of redirecting the source of the light.

With that said I do have an off shoe sync cord that I use all the time but could not in this situation since I had the camera in one hand and the shower head in the other.

Thanks for the comments all! Yes ocdirtyjerz, Yoda's fragrance line will be out this spring. It'll be called 'scent of a silkie'...

..or maybe ' blue bar in the bedroom?'

Great captures. Underexposure of #1 adds a good dramatic effect. #2 is a nice capture but #3 is my favorite. Should be titled "Splash!" :)

The photos are amazing. All I could do was laugh looking at that! Definitely a fitting description for the thread!
