Dilepis a totally unappreciated chameleon.

The question is who is interested in Dilepis babies?....I have around 5,000

NICE pics.

Here's one of my shower pics.........I mean a pic of my chams in the shower. My other shower pics would get edited off. ;)

Great pics guys. I love the goetzei just beautiful.

FL Chams Im with RC how much for a pair I didnt see them on the site but I do like the new set up for your site. Ive been looking into the deremensis also. PM me if you like. Thanks, Cain

Trace,
I really love your goetzei. Very beautiful looking specimen. Your dilepis is very nice looking as well. Nice shade of blue on its belly.
Is that 90mm; macro?

Sorry to change the subject, but how do you guys get your pics so large? Everytime I try and upload/download pics it always says that the pics are to big.

Thanks,

Dell

Sorry to hijack your thread Trace. I was really making a joke. If you have baby experience like $20 each for babies that are a couple of weeks old. If you want them at 3 1/2 to 4 inches in a couple months they'll be $35 each. I seriously have like a million of them.

No worries Mike. Honestly I've been touting the dilepis as a great chameleon for people who are ready to try something a little different but maybe aren't ready or can't keep a difficult montane species. The Flapnecks have such a different personality than anything I've worked with. Sadly they aren't big or colourful or have that unjustified "perceived value" of the ubiquitous pardalis. If there wasn't a dang international border between us again, I'd take a few of them off your hands.
Personally I think Julirs would really do well with a pair of dilepis ;)

BIGGUN: That's a nice shot of your big lizard. He's a good looking guy.

Vertex: Good guess! I was using my Tamron 90mm F/2.8 DI Macro yesterday. I'm pretty happy with the results/lens... most times! I'm sure there's a LOT more I can accomplish with the camera and lenses I've got, but there never seems to be enough time in my life lately.

Dell: I have a Photobucket account and it automatically resizes for posting to the web. I shoot large pics and I'm a complete dolt when it comes to uploading from my pooter, PhotoShop et. al.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! :)
Cheers,
t

Uuummmmm Thanks. OOhhh, oh, you mean Icefyre.

I still haven't figured out how to properly measure my lizard as noted in the other thread. :D

He's actually not that big yet. He's around 6 monthes and about a foot long.
He is good looking though isn't he.

There aren't many ugly chams but there's something about your girl (Mrs Goetzei) that's exceptional.

FLAPS RULE!!

they display behaviors that i haven't seen in other cham species, they are easy (in cham terms) to care for and are nice looking to boot!

I to think they are completely under appreciated as are carpets.

Some interesting things about flaps
  • they do a tail dance holding tail above body swaying it back and forth as to lasso something
  • spontaneously shedding
  • big wide heads (this makes they very smart :) )
  • unpredictable flapping there moods are confusing and unpredictable (mostly calm though but some are feisty)
  • various color (mood) states
  • surprising ability to get lost in there cage

EVERYONE GO GET FLAPS THEY ROCK
:)
