Shriveled Eye?

Hi all,

My panther is keeping his right eye closed for most of the day. Both his eyes are closed for part of the time and then he always opens the left eye first and then if necessary the right eye. as soon as i realizes that there is no threat he closes the right eye again. today it looks almost shriveled, like a dehydrated pea. When I approached his eye returned to normal.

Humidity is 70% constant with a large amount of the day being 85%.

Lights are:
150 Sunglow Tightbeam

UVB 10.0 Reptisun

40W Nightglo

(there is also a 60W bluelight at the bottom to warm the bottom of the tank. this causes convection and sends the fog from my fogger to the top of the enclosure.)

My ideas were:

a) It is not humid enough.

b) It is too bright.

c) He needs a Reptisun 5.0.

what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Graeme

Would get rid of all the lights and heaters except one incandescent basking bulb, 75 watt or around that and get one repti-sun 5.0 tube light. Way too much light and all the heat is not needed. They need to be able to move around to hotter and cooler areas of the cage to regulate their own temps. Could you post a pic. It may be a health issue also instead of a lighting. Lots of knowledgable people on this site that can help you. David

i fiddled around with lights and his basking spot seems to be good. bout 97degrees in the hottest basking spot. the nightglo is just because my room drops quite low at night.

i will update with the ambient heat tonight and tomorrow when his lights are back on. thanks for the info.
