Silk worm questions

I searched but couldn't find any.

1.) I ordered some silk worms and when they came they were pretty big. Were in shipping for about 6-7 days and ate all the chow they had. I know people say only feed the cham items that are no bigger then between their eyes. So my question is that length or width of the insect? The silks that came are about 2 inches long and their heads are about the size of a pencil eraser brand new.

2.) Any other food to feed them besides mulberry leafs? I've looked but couldn't find any and I'm not too sure what they look like. I looked online but about 20 different shaped leafs came up.

How old are the chams you are feeding them too? Silkies are pretty soft, I have yet to find a silkie that was to big to feed to my full grown Veileds and Panthers... They usually mash them up pretty good.

If you don't have or can't find Mulberry Leaves the only other option I know of is Mulberry Mix or Chow that can be ordered from Most of the online silkie suppilers, yu can order it in powder form where you have to prepare it, or in Premade form. There are normally a lot of members on the site with some on hand ready to sell... I am sure you could probably find a better deal on chow that way.

My cham is only 11 months old and is roughly 5-6 inches (body not including tail)
