silkies and cacoons

I was wondering how you know when a silk worm is going to make a cacoon soon. I have some pretty big worms now and they should make one soon.

Its hard to tell with some experience you can tell. The way to see is if they look like they are going to explode and you can usually see the vein in their back pulsating.

you should get some paper towel rolls and cut them into 2 inch long pieces. put a bunch of them in the bin with them. its cool look at them when they're half way done spinning.
