Silkworm Chow?

How long does chow last when kept in the fridge? My last group of silkies grew fast and fat on the fresh stuff, but my current batch aren't growing as fast and are turning a weird brownish color...Any insights? (the chow is going on a month old or so in the fridge)

6 month if uncook and 1 month when cooked and kept in the fridge.

what are the effects of longer than 1 month chow? Now I know, but curious?

My assumption would be that it would be the same as keeping a hamburger in the fridge for 5 or 6 weeks and then eating it.
It just goes bad.
Silkworms are a little delicate..especially when it comes to their food.
Everything has a shelf-life....except, I guess, Twinkies.

Strange, but I've had much better luck with uncooked chow. Longer lived silkworms, less sudden deaths.
