Silkworm & Hornworm chow

Are the dry portions of these okay to gutload crickets? I have like 1/2 pound of Silkworm chow and 1/4 Portion of Hornworm chow that im not doing anything with...

Mix it with water, and serve at a cheese consistency. I've been doing that for a while. Crix love it.

I don't understand the point of this... chow costs a lot of money and the price is climbing... why waste it on POS feeders like crickets that eat anything.... like.. a carrot or sweet potato, that costs a lot less and is relatively 'cheap'?

ok, i bought 2 lbs of dry food, because i planned on breeding silkies, and had lots of silkies to begin with, but that project fell through, and i wonder if feeding silkworm chow is good for my roaches/other feeders. i just have and extra lb of dry food, and feel like putting it too good use.

EDIT: roaches are not POS feeders personally, but crix definitely are. (if you were calling roaches POS feeders)

how is a roach worth more than a cricket? they are free. you get some adults and can have an ON GOING colony and never buy another feeder again.... im not debating the value or worth of a feeder...... but it is obvious that a silk or HW will be worth more than roaches or crickets since they do cost a lot more per item..... and chow.... so... yeah... sell the chow or buy eggs and raise them on the chow. I would not feed chow to crickets regardless of it being healthy or not. it just isn't cost effective.

Edit: if you like pouring money down the tube... be sure that tube is plumbed into my bank account.

Well he got his opinion across...... I don't see a problem with it, it's gotta be great for the crickets and even better for the Cham it's going to. It's your money/product use it how YOU like

Then I guess give it a go, it couldn't hurt to use it for feeder food. I would recommend using it wet like you do for silks, it will go farther that way.


I still think the whole idea is like sprinkling diamonds on your morning eggs..... But then again it will make your doodee twinkle!

I tried breeding silkworms... did NOT work. So now i have a LOTTA CHOW. Just like THECHAMMAN.
