Silkworm question

I finally ordered some silks and plan to attempt to breed them. My question is when should I switch them into a larger container? It says when they start to over crowd to petri dish. But to me they look overcrowed already.

Those are definitely too crowded, silkworms will also easily be overcome by a bacterial disease if conditions are poor. I would put them into a rubbermaid tub and make sure to look up some care sheet facts for the little guys. Let me know if you are successful, as I am always looking for new sources of feeders!

One cool thing to do is when they reach about an inch in size, feed them beets and carrots and they will spin colored silk.
