silkworms

i was thinking about getting some silkworms, or silkworm eggs, and was wondering where you guys get yours from. i am going to be feeding them to a couple of babie panthers, so i dont want to get to many as i have heard that they grow very fast.

i also use coastal silkworms and mulberry farms. i like coastal better because they are a little cheaper, and they do not charge by the size, but i use mulberry farms as a back up if coastal is out

OK so I just got the silkworms, there are a bunch of tiny black things in it that look like poop, is that their food or their poop??? Do I need to clean the bucket out or anything??? There is also stuff on the bottom that looks like a hard thing of baby poop. lol gross! Whats the food???

You set them on the lid (propped up on something so they don't suffocate) and let all of the pelleted poop (frass) fall to the bottom. Clean out at least every day. The food is a mulberry paste mix that is green in color and shoved into the bottom, I believe what you described as baby poop lol. Also FYI they eat mulberry leaves, but once they taste them, they never want the chow mix again! Here is a link to what they look like:

thanx sooo much! but omg half of the tupperwear is filled with pelleted poop! gross!!

So am I supposed to take everything out??? Im confused... It's like full of the pelleted stuff and then paste at bottom.

Ok so I had the thing upside down... lol im such a loserdidn't know that the lid goes facing the bottom haha

Just take out the pellets...leave the stuff in the bottom, and if it starts coming out, shove it up back in!
