While I've been into hornworm breeding and all....those things grow very, very fast. I've had two bite my Chams today and I had to kill them since they had thier head broken open. So I've been thinking of getting silkworms but have a few questions which are...

Do silkworms bite?
What's the nutritional value of silkworms?
How much should Be fed to my chameleons?
How fast do they grow?
Any tips on breeding?
Thanks for the help, all tips are greatly appreciated :D.

Silkworms do not bite, not sure what's the exact nutritional value but I know they are one of the best choices as far as feeders go, they grow somewhat fast but don't get nearly as fat or long as hornworms, breeding tip I have, even just keeping them is to minimize moisture build up in the container, keep the container as clean as possible because silkworms have a very poor immune system making them very sensitive to bacteria and infections, which is good, if the silkworms are alive they are most likely healthy and great for your Cham. Some people say they are somewhat a more sensitive feeder but as far as my experience with them go, they're fine. Great feeder choice.
A little hard to get sometimes, all they eat is mulberry leaves or silkworm chow. There's tips in the forum on how to keep them and care for them

Are they more like the size if a mealworm generally then? Ive never seen a silk but hornworms do get huge its amazing
