Silly question..

As a new chameleon owner I made my first mistake right away. I purchased two veil chameleons instead of one (one male, one female), at a pet expo. After reading numerous expert sites, I shortly realized that I had to order a second cage to separate them. It will be here in the next day or two and I will be separating them permanently.

Needless to say..the people at the pet expo never told me their age or any useful information and I was too excited to think about important questions to ask.

Can someone help me guessing their age? Their full length including tails is about 7 1/2 inches.

Here are some pictures of them.

If anyone else has any other useful info or tips, please let me know :)

Being as they are the same size, I'd guess they are from the same clutch, brother and sister. If they are, I wouldn't recommend breeding them together if it interests you later on. I'd get in contact with that breeder and ask asap, so they can tell you for sure.
Best of luck with the chams. NO question is ever a silly question. It's best you ask and find out the answer if you haven't a clue.

I would look into screen cages...probably 4.5 or 5 months old...just a guess.

thanks for the guesses everyone.

The cage they are in now is 38 gallons, and it is screened on 3 sides, only the back is glass, so there is plenty of airflow.
We have another cage coming with all 4 sides screened.

Are you sure they are male & female. Do both of them have tarsal spurs? or just one? I ask only b/c Agent 99 seems to be getting the patterning of a male....

Veiled Pair.........

Can't see in the second picture of Agent 99 if there are spurs or not. It does look like a juvie female I recently got. The only other thing I can add is that they look like they have gained weight and started to fill out under your care. They were skinny little things when you first got them. So things are heading in the right direction :)
