Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Ambanja Panther Chameleon, about six months old. In my care 4 and a half is months, probably less.
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Maybe once a day, he doesn't mind it but i don't do it too much.
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Dubia Roaches, Superworms, and Phoenix worms. They are on no rotation schedule, I usually am able to tell what he feels like eating based on the days before. Gut loaded super worms and phoenix worms on sweet potato and baby spinach, dubious on apple, carrot, banana, sweet potato. Recently he has not been eating great, four days ago was the last full meal he had, about 15 small phoenix worms. Ate nothing the next two days and yesterday he had two large phoenix worms. Today, nothing.
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Calcium without D3 every feeding
Calcium with D3 once a month
Multivitamin once a month
The multivitamin has D3 in it.
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
One mistking nozzle that goes off every 2.5 hours for two minutes, the first one at 7am and the last one at 5pm.
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
seems pretty normal. White urate with a solid poo. Although yesterday, there was one with a pretty large poop, with a normal urate. He has been tested three times, I was almost hoping for a parasite, because its an easier problem to fix.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
He has a history of eating problems.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Reptibreeze XL-2'x4'x4'
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
He has a 100 watt basking lamp (my house is pretty cold, and its not too close to him, and a UVB tube. Lights come on at 6:30 am, go off at 7 pm
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Basking: about 88
Ambiently: about 71
Nighttime: 66 (normal temperature of my house, I can cool this down if you think it is necessary)
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Humidity is about 36 percent right before a misting, then it spikes up and slowly goes down again. Measured with probe. I will also be running a humidifier in my room, so that should help as well.
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
In my bedroom, relatively low traffic, the top of the cage is level with my eyes, maybe 5 feet 3 inches off the ground.
Location - Where are you geographically located?
NY
Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
The past two days I have caught him sleeping. Not sure for how long per day because i am out for most of it, but each morning he is active and basking , waiting for his first mist. I believe he falls asleep in the afternoon. Its not a deep sleep like at night, because he can sense I'm there, and opens his eyes. (but i do see him with them closed) When i find him like that, i put him up in his basking spot and he stays near the top for a few minutes before heading back down, but he doesn't go to sleep immediately. He is not eating well either.
