Sleepy, eyes closed, blinking 4 month old panther.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 16x16x30 screen enclosure
Lighting - Exo-Terra 75w Sun Glo basking. Repti-Glo 5.0 then Repti-Sun 5.0 linear 14w tubes.
Temperature - 93 degree basking spot with bottom cage temp at 75. Nighttime low of 70-72
Humidity - Humidity near bottom 85%, middle 50-60%, top 25-30%. Cool mist humidifier piped unto top of enclosure. Drip created with condensation on a plastic leaf secured to top of enclosure.
Plants - Live ficus with fake vines, dowel rod, and fake foliage.
Location - Bedroom

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - 4 month old female Panther
Feeding -Silkworms and 1/2 inch crickets 6-8 a day.
Supplements - day 1 Miner-all, day 2 Herptivite, day three nothing.
Watering - misting once a day, cool mist condensation drip twice a day for three hours, shower once a week.
Fecal Description - brown seemingly normal, at vet had very runny and stringy fecal today.
History - just got her 2 weeks ago.
Current Problem - Sleeping most of the day. slower moving than my male. eyes closed. heavy blinking. To eat she stick her tongue out and moves her head into the cricket. ??


Well I got her to the vet today without much revealed.

The vet doesn't think there is anything wrong with her eyes. She says that there is nothing visibly wrong with her anywhere. The fecal was to runny to do the more thorough test but the one she did didn't reveal parasites. Her weight is 32 grams. The vet gave her vits and a shot of fluids. I was given Baytril to administer twice daily. Wasn't given any eye meds because there didn't seem to be anything wrong there.

So I guess my question is now what?

I really have no diagnosis and we're treating ??????

Any advice?
I feel like I'm just sitting here waiting for her to get worse and die.

Location - Bedroom any access to unblocked sunlight? (meaning no glass/ plastic in between)

What kind of MinerAll you use? the 0 one or the 1? I think the 1 has D3. my supplementation schedule is herptivite MTh, Repcal d3 TF, Minerall 0 (WSat), no supplement on sunday

i think a second opinion is needed. Is your vet an exotic specialist?

Do you have both the reptiglo 5.0 and the reptisun 5.0?
Or did you replace the glo with the sun?

The runny stool could be caused by the silkworms; doesn't sound serious.

The only thing I would question further is your supplementation regimen. Which Minerall are you using ??? the I or O??? You may want to back off on the Herptivite. It should only be needed twice a month .

Personally I dust each feeding with calcium without D3. Then I dust with Calcium with D3 once a week . I dust with Minerall O and Herptivite twice each month.

You may have your supplementation out of balance; i.e. some components too much, some not enough and possible some not at all ( D3??????).

The cage is temp until the Christmas tree comes down. then the real cage building starts.

I've seen her rub twice. both times were on the plastic vine. She seemed to have this eye problem from the start. I just didn't know it was a problem until I noticed how often she had them closed. She hasn't eaten any leaves at all.

No access to sunlight as I live in PA and it's in the 30's during the day here.

My Miner-All is 1....with D3.

This vet was the only exotic that I could find in the area. I looked on Herpevet connection.

I started with the Repti-glo 5.0 on her cage and then replaced it with a Repti-sun 5.0 because that is what everyone said they were using. When nothing changed I used the Repti-glo on my males cage when I got him last week. He's REALLY doing well.

My Minerall is the one with D3.

I'm taking all of this info in and will try to d owhat's best for the cham in the long run. I don't think the supplements are the problem right now though. I don't think I've had her long enough for a supplementation problem to show up. I have no clue what the breeder's regimen was but I am trying to find out.

These are the eye pics. They just don't seem very "crisp" or lively???? They also don't seem to dialate nearly as much as my male's do.

What do you think?

I did see her drinking from the dripper this morning. She ate a couple of crickets last night.

Well she finally had a dropping when she wasn't in the shower. Now there's blood in her stool. her stool seemed jelly like and then the orange came out last. It was probably there all the time I just couldn't get a good stool because of the shower. She's been on Baytril since Sat. Should the Baytril have been helping this problem or do I need Flagyl? She's getting .01 cc's per day of the Baytril. She weighs 30 grams.

This is frustrating not really knowing what is going on or if things are getting better or if I'm just wasting precious time treating improperly.

the orange urates indicates a severe dehydration .
now you absolutely have to go to the vet again and tell him the condition get worsened. sounds very urgent.
Is there any other exotic vets around?

since she is the only one available.. I say just go to her and explain the new symptoms.
Call her tomorrow and ask whether you should continue the Baytril treatment.
