small flying bugs in cricket enclosure

So today i noticed a good number of small flying bugs in my cricket enclosure, they looked to be a little larger than gnats. Any body have any ideas as to what they could be? and are they bad? this is the first time ive seen these in my cricket box.

I got things like these too... they made hundreds of maggots...:cautious: Make sure you don't have too many dead crickets or too much food and that may help. But what I did is I taped paper towel over the air holes in my encloser and that helped alot.Just keep an eye on it and keep us updated :coffee:

Phorrid flies most likely. They can wipe out a cricket colony pretty quickly. You need to make sure your cricket enclosure is clean. And make sure to get rid of any mold. In case you aren't already you should be cleaning your crickets at least once weekly.

Edit: how I hate auto correct... porridge flies do not exist auto correct I am sorry
