Small PetSmart Victory

Hi everyone, just thought I would share that the PetSmart in my area is no longer selling chams! I went in to buy some crickets and when chameleons came up, the lady told me they aren't allowed to sell them anymore.

This is great news, considering that they kept them in tiny, glass tanks and I often saw salespeople trying to sell them to kids/people with 0 reptile experience.

Just thought I would share this little bit of news, curious if this is all PetSmarts or just the one where I live.

Well that's good news, As for weather or not it's just your store I would guess it's purely profit motivated. Your store probably wasn't making enough money on the sell of them. But you can rest assured in the stores where they are making a profit I'm sure they are selling them.

Yeah Thank god they don't sell them anymore they were in like 5 gallon tanks.

They are still selling veiled chams at the petsmart near my house... I would think it was smaller than a 5 gallon tank though. So it must just be a local profit motivated decision as brownie pointed out.

I know they have the ability to get panthers and jacksonii in as well (although i've only seen it a couple times).... I know because I asked when I was first looking for a chameleon and they stated they could get them shipped in for additional $$

yeah it probably is smaller.
