i hve a male veiled that i have in a custom cage. i also have 3 month old panther that is in a smaller cage across the room. i made a diider out of fake leaves that i over lapped so that cant see each other. my male veiled who just hit maturity and started inseminating on his branches is starting to walk his cage a lot and looks stressed. he is a darker color. and when he does lighten up he seems to always have this blueish greensh dot pattern. can he smell the little one? or is it because he is lookinh for a mete?

Would you please post some pictures of your veiled. Are you sure it's a male? To answer your question I think they can tell when another cham is around. I know mine can.

yea it is a clear liquid that looked kinda sticky he was rubbing it on the branches and walking around. i know he is showing a lot of female traits i dont know why. he is alos searching the floor of his cage. but i sent him a pic and he said it was a male but i will post one of his spurs. there are also pics of him in my pic albums

here it is

spurs indicate male without a doubt...post some full body pics of that blueish greensh spot pattern you were talking about.
Edit: i just checked out your gallery pics and that is definately a male if both pics are the same cham .
They go through a 'mean' phase when they become sexually mature and that dark coloration usually dissappears with time. If it persists then you got something wrong with your husbandary...any recent changes with care...?
make completely sure that they cannot see each other.

here are the spots he put these on cause i woke him up to yake te pic. during the day he will have the same color dots yetthey will be faint a there will b a lot less then that. it is not as if he is flared up.
