They are the common yard snails we have in California, Helix asperia. They are kept in my laundry room in a screened top container. So they probably stay around the mid 70s. I was only able to find three this year to breed and only the 2 largest darted and laid eggs. I didn't count the number of eggs I transferred into the hatching container but it seems like I got more baby snails than I had eggs. Weird? I should have counted. What kind of snails are you breeding. It's funny I never could tell how long between breeding and egg laying, because I have so many snails in the aquarium. I put them outside now and things have definitely slowed down. Are you controlling the temps?
