Snail breeding

After months of looking in my yard I finally found two brown garden snails in my neighbor's yard. Hope my neighbors didn't see me.
I know they need a largish container with clean soil or substrate, water they can't drown in or tip over, calcium source and leafy greens. I've heard they need a large rock to lay eggs on. True?
I know not to feed the wild first generation to my cham because of parasites and to separate the eggs in a new clean container to keep them parasite free.
What do the eggs look like? Where do they lay them? Got any pictures?

The eggs look like a little clump of white pearls & mine always laid them in the soil! I have the kind people eat in Europe! Escargot

I know you can eat brown garden snails but they aren't as pretty as the ones you mention.

For calcium I use cuttle bone, romaine lettuce, baby carrots, some squash, cantaloupe,

I was going to try egg shells I cooked (in case of salmonella) in the microwave for calcium. If they don't go for that I'll get a cuttle bone.
Have you tried eating your escargot?

Egg shells is totally fine, if you do it in the microwave, make sure you wash well after and before.

If you use egg shells bake them in the oven at 350° for a half hour, then you can grind them up! I had them out of a can and they tasted like seaweed to me! Mine are for my oshys and Parsons chameleons

I've had them at french restaurants and they tasted like garlic and butter but not much else.

Usually you wash them after just to make sure if anything is left. I do it for my dog if I not able to get out to the store and am running low on edible bone meals. I do feed raw egg to him just fine, because a dog's stomach acid doesn't allow for salmonella to breed, but usually something different is present in eggshells that can cause issues as well (can't remember exactly what it was as I looked it up months ago and haven't had issues with edible bones for a while)
