I want to start raising and breeding snails for my chams and I found a bunch of these in the garden outside. Does anyone know what type these are??

Not sure what type they are but you may be better ordering some online. Incase those have been munching on anything with pesticides on them.

I was thinking of breeding these and raising the babies, instead of feeding these ones off- just in case. I looked them up and they're Amber Snails...a fairly soft shelled species. I've also looked around online and can't find any live ones available to order to canada:(

Many online sources are also wild caught snails so you would have to breed them anyway. Just be sure you separate the eggs out in to a new container so that baby snails are not infected by any parasites that the adults may have.

Of my chameleons only my Jackson will eat snails, but he goes nuts for them so I breed them just for him.

That's who I want them for. I'm in the process of setting up my enclosures for 2 Mt Meru Jackson's that are patiently waiting for me to come and pick them up! I doubt my 2 Sternfeldi girls will touch them- they hate anything but plain old crickets!!

I thought they might be pond snails as well, but I actually got them out of my grandmothers garden when I was visiting today. They back onto conservation, but the closest pond is about a 20 minute walk away.
