Snails

Hello all :)

My question today is about snails... I know many people feed them to their montane species. But can other species, such as veileds and panthers eat them?

Thanks :)

I was under the impression that snails can carry a high parasite load- this has always turned me off to using them as a food source. Is this not the case? How are people who feed snails acquiring/culturing them?

You can pick them up at garden clubs, nurseries, etc. Really the only way to de-parasite them is to breed.

Yup.

I gathered about twenty adults, kept them for maybe a month. They produced an incredible number of eggs, very readily and quickly.

Raise up the babies and there you go.

I now periodically collect eggs when I come across them, to add to my tank.
