So Hungry!

Since I cut back to feeding Amy every other day/3 times per week she always seems so hungry (even more than before)! So now she has worked out what is going on and knows when it's a feeding day! :D She'll sit at the front of the viv waiting for pretty much the whole day and as soon as I go near the viv she starts sticking her tongue out even before she sees whether I have food or not! If she catches sight of any food on its way to her then she nearly falls off the branch in her haste to eat! Is she really that hungry or is she just being a typical female veiled?

My Female is exactly the same and i feel guilty the days im not feeding her, and she see's getting food for the others,

She will run down from her basking towards her feeding bowl as soon as im in the room lol, sometimes i give in on her non food day and put in a few small size feeders as i do feel bad,

I know just how you feel, I have always struggled with the concept of feedign every other day for female. I made the overfeeding mistake with Lily, so I am determined to learn from that. Amy is now 18 months old - the same age that my dear Lily got to. I really enjoy feeding them though so it's hard, but it'll be worth it to have Amy with me for longer than I had Lily.

Yes its for their own good for sure, i always sonder how they get on in the wild if they have loads to eat as my female would be one heck of a fatty,

Bea is still young and growing, and I haven't had to start cutting her back yet, but "full" does not seem to be within her vocabulary. Additionally, she's learned to hand feed, so the moment a hand is held in her direction, the eyes go to stereo and the tongue starts to extrude.
Yet she's still picky and won't eat fruit for me, whether I offer it by hand or stick it on the ends of branches. Which I've come to expect with other chameleons, but with a veiled - and one who cheerfully picks off random leaves and starts munching, I think she's being a bit finicky.
