Here is Pogi. He should be about 6 months old maybe 7. The seller I got him from a few months ago wasn't really sure what the coloration would be.
He is also supposed to be an ambilobe panther. Please chime in with thoughts and ideas of possible color outcomes....

He looks like an Ambanja, if not 100% then at least a big part of him is. He has the long nose ridge that is very typical of that locale, too. He is very pretty! He'll probably stay heavily blue as he continues to mature.

So it's the pointy nose that makes y'all lnow he is ambanja? I guess I never noticed more than the colors! I thought maybe nosey faly because of the light blue with white stripes plus the yellow around the eyes! I guess I need to start paying better attention to other details.

With Ambanjas yea, the rostral process is usually significantly longer. And I know the colors can look very similar to other locales but this falls under a pretty typical variety of Ambanja, the blue background with darker blue bars (usually with some red but not necessarily always.) We have a few like this on the forum, if I can find one of the photo threads I'll post it for you so you can see more examples.

Locales are tricky! It took me many months of looking through photos to become more familiar with each locale and then the variety within the locale, so definitely don't feel alone. Some animals still give me trouble every so often, to be honest.

Edit - Here's a thread. You can see a lot of them are very solid blue, with some much darker and some lighter. Some with more red and some with less. But you can see how much blue they can have. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blue-ambanjas-unite-90043/ Also, member Texas Ranger had one (who recently passed away) that was awesome, he had the baby blue background with like wine-red bars, so he would have been example of an Ambanja with the pale, nearly white background.

I definitely agree with him showing more characteristics of an Ambanja than an Ambilobe. Love the light blue body with dark blue bars, great combo.
