Placement - Cage is in my room. Sometimes a fan is running that goes back and forth, and the wind will sometimes go towards his cage. The cage is on my desk so the top is over 5 feet above the ground.

Current Problem - My chameleon basically stopped eating about 2 weeks ago. Well he didn't eat for a day and a half. Then he gradually started eating again. I usually feed him the crickets out of this small bowl, but he wasn't interested at all. So he started acting normal once he started eating again, but now he is acting strange again. He will only eat about every other day. He went 2 days without eating once. I let the crickets just roam and he would eat them sometimes this way recently. Now his arm is doing this weird twitching thing. Video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86NoZA-HsaE

are you giving him any multivitamins??? NOT just the D3? Chameleons NEED vitamin A, it is vital to their health.

Also he needs to be seen by a vet ASAP, that twitch is a sign of neurological damage.

D3 should only be used 2 a month. While a plain calcium with no d3 should be a light dusting every feeding. He may have too much d3 which is causing the weird behavior

the dry food that I give the crickets has vitamin A. Is that not enough?

No veileds need a plain calcium supplement at every feeding, a calcium with D3 twice a month, and a multivitamin with vitamin A once a month. The cricket food is not enough and if you are only giving calcium with D3 for 5 months your chameleon could be in serious danger. So the only thing you can do now is bring him to the vet and have them run tests. Also fill out the how to as for help form fully so we can see what lighting your using and other things that may be relevant

It already looks like he is showing signs of neurological damage, and not eating well is never a good sign.

Ok I will have to do that. I just kept doing what the person before me that had him was doing. When I got him everything was fine, so I don't know why it is just now happening.

It takes a while for signs of illness to actually start to show in chameleons, and who knows how long they had him before you. If you tell us abouts where you live we can help find you a really good reptile vet, because if the vet isn't familiar with chameleons that too can end in a tragedy =( I and other members would know that first hand...

I have a repti basking light. 150w. Not sure what else you would need me to tell you

You need a UVB bulb as well, what type of bulb is that? You would need a basking "heat" bulb to give around a 100 degree basking spot, and a UVB bulb so he can process the D3 you are giving him. a reptiglo 5.0 linear tube bulb is #1 recommended

you can use a regular flourescent frosted bulb for heat, there's no need to buy a specialty reptile basking bulb they are no different except for the price.

I know the person who had it before me, and they got him as a baby. I have found a reptile vet through google that is somewhat near me.

Hopefully you are able to fix your setup in time and a vet is able to catch whatever is going on with him. If you can swing it have them run a full blood panel to check his kidney and liver levels as well. Chameleons are so hard, I hope your little guy will be okay :) if it is warm enough take him outside for some natural sun as well, it is the best for them.
