This WC Ambilobe has started to show some very strange spots. Has anybody ever seen something similar? In 6 years with chams this is my first.

What is the temp directly under the basking light? Check it, as another possibility is a thermal burn based on where they spots are (spine, top of ribs, knee). The season is getting cooler and days shorter...maybe its spending more time under the basking light than usual. Burns result from high temps but also from too much TIME exposed to that heat level. If you go to a vet ask them to use a diagnostic black light to scan for fungal infections...many fluoresce under black light. Possibly a skin biopsy to tell much.

If this is a female. it could announce her need to lay eggs. My little female shows an off white color with the blotchy spots. When that happens she goes straight into the egg laying sandbox fora week or so.

I did run a black light to see if it could be a fungus and used a hand held microscope but I will have to resort to a professional on this. As far as a burn, I seriously doubt it because the lights are far enough (6inches). Thanks for the input. Will keep you guys posted.
