I am a proud new owner of a 4 month old Yemen Chameleon and I mist his enclosure 2/3 times a day. The problem I am having is with standing water at the bottom of the enclosure. Does anyone have any recommendation with dealing with this?
a great way to deal with standing water is to make your own drainage system.below is a link to a thread to give you some great ideas
its still a good idea to mop up any excess water if any before lights out too.
Reptibreeze are great enclosures and there are plenty of ideas on the forum, use the search option to find old threads I'm sure something will catch your eye. Be sure to upload some pics of the finished product.
There are tons of drainage methods, for reptibreeze cages.
You can drill several holes in the plastic floor, get a oversize dura tray (for rabbit cages) or a washing machine drain tray. Put the cage in the tray, place spacers under each edge of the cage to lift it off the drain tray to provide proper flow under it, drill a hole in the corner of the tray where you want the drain hose, place shim wedges under the tray and cage to funnel the water to the drain hole, glue or attach a hose to the drain hole, and the other end in a large drain container (make sure it's not too heavy when full).
Just have to remember to empty the drain container when it gets full
If you have a hole in your wall left over from cable tv or phone line that is no longer in use, you can route the drain hose outside your house.
