Woo tomorrow marilyn get her new 4ft cage.. she is 5 months and I don't think an 18x 18x 24x is good enough.. its probably why she isn't eating but maybe when shes in a bigger cage she will.

Ill post pictures when i put her in it :D

Cool! I bet she will love her new cage! What kind of cham is she? I just got a 10 week old veiled and have been wondering about when I might need to move him to a big boy cage. I want to be prepared.

Males get way bigger than female so id put him in around the same age about 5 months maybe sooner depending on how he grows

That's what I was thinking...about 2 more months before his big move. My husband wants to make his cage, so I think he needs to get a move on!

Ooh! A panther? That is exciting! I can't wait to get one someday!

To a 4ft cage- no earlier than 6 months, no later than a year and that's pushing it IMO..

It really depends on species, individual size, what they are currently housed in. My male Faly has been in a 18" x 18" x 36" since the day I got him at 4 months old or so.. I'm waiting on a female Faly to reach shipping age in another month or so, then she'll get his 3ft and I have a 4ft already setup with drainage and everything.

Keeping these majestic creatures definitely requires a lot of patience and hard work. I feel like I spend all my spare time in the Cham room fiddling with mist systems, drippers, cage drainage, free range maintenance along with all the other upkeep like refilling reservoirs, checking and testing timers, and the dreaded daily drainage bucket dump. The most time consuming single word of all, I feel like I spend more time on this than anything in my life.... Bugs. Finding a good deal and Ordering, container cleaning/restocking, etc... It sounds bad, but I love every second of it all.
Breeding panther chameleons= 1000's of dollars.
That "Christmas Morning" feeling you get when you pop that Tupperware lid and you get the googley eyes.... Priceless..

**Before getting your first chameleon, understand that chameleon keeping is not a hobby... It's a lifestyle change..**
