Stone texture over foam?

That's what I was thinking, the rustoleum? Has anyone here used it? @Brodybreaux25 now that I think of it, don't you have stone textured backgrounds?
OHHHHH @GoodKarma19 actually cut the foam to make it look like rock.... It looked amazing. She is super creative working with foam maybe she has some ideas James.

Yes works very well, just lightly scuff the surface of your cured foam to give the spray something solid to grab onto.

I just do what i want, then coat everything in a few layers of clear urethane. If humans can walk on in for 20 years, and it doesnt yellow from the sun, and potable water can be in contact with it after it dries, its good enough for me.

Broadcasting sand into the silicone/flex seal works also.

For a smoother texture you could get thin pieces of slate and adhere it to the foam.

Some of the best fake rocks I ever made were created by beating the crap out of cardboard boxes, spray painting them, then coating inside and out with fiberglass resin. They looked smooth and very natural.
I don't think I still have pics of them, but I will look online and see if I can locate some of the desired end result.

Yes. Is the WTF enclosure. Added some cory cats and plecos 2 weeks ago. So far so good...
I think I can safely say that the liquid flex seal is a great alternative to silicone
For backgrounds and sealants. Easier to spread.
Darts would be a fun project...
Ivories, and ornatus are both doing great btw. I should have some duckies ready in a month or so if you're interested in a trade...

Grout over styrofoam, detailed with acrylic paint and sealed with Samac water based varnish. For a higher humidity/water, Kennel Seal or epoxy resin was recommended to me. This one's an insert for my c. Gracilis scorpion.

Not yet! Capsicum is still so so tiny- I'd literally never see it again, and I'd worry about it not getting enough to eat! Going to be a couple more months, I think...
