New chameleon owner! I've read so much it is all running together so i don't remember if it was here or on a chameleon facebook page, but several chame owners were saying they take their chame outside to sunbathe for 15-20 mins when the weather is appropriate. Do any of y'all do this? If so what temp is to hot/cold for them to go out in?

70-75f depends on wind chill too
95f max for males

Natural sun does wonders and as mentioned above you'll want a warmer day

You'll get a big benefit in bonding with your cham and your cham gets uvb and natural d3 synthesis. I am lucky enough to live somewhere warm year round and in the time my chameleon has been tolerant of handling ( after he was 6 months old he began to relax a bit but I don't often handle him I give him the option to come out but it's on his terms) he's recognized a particular stick as his outside stick. And as an added bonus he almost always poops while outside making my life easier.

What would you say is the hottest temp it can get to take them outside? We are talking about 15 to 60 minutes a day depending on weather.

It does depend on species veiled and panthers can tolerate the low 90˚F range but need to have shade available and if their colors go very pale they are overheating. Jackson's should stay under the mid 80's and partial shade is a must.
I would highly recommend using an outdoor cage be cause these guys can quickly become ninjas and disappear into your yard and finding them can be almost impossible. If you don't use a cage don't even look down at your phone while they are out.

Yeah I'm going for a veiled and live in AZ so it stays warm for a while lol plan on using his old cage to take him outside for a while to keep him safe. Thinking of just misting him while hes out there every 15 to 20 minutes. Any thoughts?

No need especially if it's hot you'll risk an r.i.

Multivitamins makes a good point lots of heat and lots of humidity can lead to respiratory infections. Only since you are in Arizona I believe you can get away with some daytime misting outdoors if you have good ventilation and don't get carried away. You only need 30-40% day time humidity but your natural humidity is probably much lower and will allow for some misting.

I take mine out for 20 minutes in sun, when weather permits, set em in an isolated japanese maple, they love it!! They now run to me when I enter the room lol..
