Superworm colony gone wrong!

My superworm colony has fallen under attack by what I am assuming to be flour or grain mites (very very small translucent/white roundish insects?)

Ive also noticed they are in my chameleon and frog enclosures

Has anybody encountered this problem? If so, what is the best way for getting rid of them.

The colony has been disposed of already,

Thanks

well this may not be as viable for a chameleon enclosure as it is open-air, but for closed-tanks a great technique is "CO2 bombing" (thats what i call it anyway).

basically, get some dry ice, put it in some plastic cups, and set it in your enclosure. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE YOUR ANIMALS FIRST!!!!!! Then you simply close off the tank and let the dry ice evaporate. Let it sit a few hours and then open the tank to air and all bugs will be dead.....and your plants will be completely unharmed.

But like I said that works with closed tanks like for pygmys or frogs....if you could somehow make your cham enclosure airtight... just remember not to do it with ur cham in ther eor you will KILL your cham too!!

Mites can be wiped off of enclosures. Allow the enclosures to dry out completely and repot the plants. There is also "mite paper" that kills them on contact. You use it under the tubs/enclosures.

In the super colony, it is usually because theyare kept too moist. The mites can't survive if it's dry.
