Superworms died

Hey everyone!
I just got a new batch of superworms the other day and I fed them some bell peppers last night and this morning I woke up and they’re all dead!! What happened?!!?!?

Yes they are in the stuff they came in. I’m not sure what it is.

Maybe there was pesticide on the pepper. RIP supers.

Well that might be a possibility but we buy organic so there shouldn’t have been a pesticide on them.

Google says, Natural or non-synthetic pesticides are allowed by the USDA National Organic Standards.
I’ve given my supers and other bugs bell pepper before and they were fine. I do wash all of my produce very well, usually in soapy water (Dawn dish soap) and rinse the heck out of. Greens I soak in a sink full of cool water and agitate a bit.

I think bell peppers are noted as a food item that tends to carry more pesticides than most. Probably one to skip or grow yourself

You have to be part farmer too. I grow my own carrots & potatoes

Absolutely! And you don't even have to be a very good farmer. I am growing greens which are listed as one of the most pesticide heavy crops if you get them in the store with zero pesticides of any kind. I don't really care if there's a couple of holes in them most of them are going to be eaten by insects anyway once I bring them in!
