Superworms

There is a lot of talk about superworms and how great they are for chamis, so when I went to my reptile store Friday, I purchased some (10 cents each!). Anyway, I only got 10 since I didn't know if Arnie would eat them. I gave him 3 this morning. I walked away for a few minutes (he is very private about his eating) and when I returned they were all gone! I put two more in his dish and within a few minutes they were gone also. I guess I can say he likes them.

So, my question is, how many should I feed him and is 10 cents each the price for these? Crickets are cheaper and easier to gutload and dust. Do I have to do the same for superworms?

Can I feed my 2 month and 3 month old babies superworms too?

I have no interest in raising worms....ackkkkkk

Superworms are addictive and your cham might stop eating everything else and they are on the fatty side. The best feeder are roaches but most people cant deal with them. I don't recommend them as a staple feeder chameleons need variety even I get sick of cheeseburgers.

Good advice. I will only give him a few a week as a treat. I'll stick with the crickets and try some fruits and veggies in his feeding bowl on the days he gets the super worms. hehehehe
