Hey guys, my understanding is, Plain Phosphorus Free Calcium for pretty much every feeding....
By the way I have been reading the forum for about 6 hours a day since finding them a few days ago, trying to find my own answers.. But I am still stuck on the actual feeding regiment..
And I want to really get it perfect to make sure My cham is having the best chance at a very healthy life..
Ok so I am positive about the Plain Phosphorus Free Calcium everyday no question :)

Maybe if the is a senior memeber with patients lol could help me, this thread will help allot of newbies..

All that is left is the Calcium with D3 and vitemins....

Then I would read this In addition use a multivitamin and the calcium with D3 twice every two weeks.
And that is to me confusing.... I am mot dumb but I mean, im trying so hard to be deliberate maybe I am overthinking it...
There is allot of variables to that statment no?
One week palin calcium the next week calcium but on tuesday calcium with d3 on all the crkickets or whatever u feed your cham or only on so many of them? Then wed, thurs, fri, plain calcium..saturday dust all crickets again calcium with d3..
Then the vitemein with d 3 the next week two days on all crickets for that feding..
Sorry if im over thinking this and I am actually confusing people..
Its just after doing so much reading in all parts of the forums im really nervous especially after ready hundres of posts in the health section yikes! As a matter of fact after doing all this reading and still reading... I question myself if I have made a wise choice not for me but for the little fellow I bought..
Anyway I will stop typing lol and see what happens here..

Plain cal every feed then twice a month d3 and twice a month a multivitamin so I do one Sunday d3 then next Sunday multivitamin and so on

I think you got it. keep on mind lots of people do.it differently. Im big on gut loading i thonk that is the most important but calcium all the time. calcium with D3 once a week next week multi next week calcium with d3 and so on but dont forget to gut load. And try to feed a variety!

Here`s what Ive been doing,,,,
Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Wed. Thurs, Fri, Sat - Plain Calcium no d3
Sun - Calcium with d3
Week 2 - Mon, Tues, Wed. Thurs, Fri, Sat - Plain Calcium no d3
Sun - Multivitamin
Week 3 - Mon, Tues, Wed. Thurs, Fri, Sat - Plain Calcium no d3
Sun - Calcium with d3
Week 4 - Mon, Tues, Wed. Thurs, Fri, Sat - Plain Calcium no d3
Sun - Multivitamin
and from there you could figure out your month to month routine,,,it isnt critical if you miss a daily calcium dusting,,,but try to always get the d3 and multivitamins in!!!!
And of course a good gutload regimine is imperative!!!

I keep 4 chams, 3 different species, so a suppliment schedule for each, and using 3 seperate products would boggle my brain!
I just use Repashy Calcium Plus for everyone, but how often I dust depends on what I have gut-loaded my feeders with.
My veiled is different because he has greens and fruits in his diet which have to be taken in consideration.

So in other words, I use only Repashy CP as needed :D

I think if you are using any suppliment every feeding, every day, there is something lacking in your gut-load  ;)

I prefer to use the three separate supliments that way I can judge it better, for example if you chameleon is getting a lot of natural UVB you won't need to dust with d3 but I do agree with you on the gut load, I dust my crickets, locust and dubi but generally don't with butterworms, calci worms and obviously silkworms

I do a lot of gutloading!! But I was made aware on this forum in the umpteen care sheets and blogs and numerous thread readings,,,that calcium without d3 should be used everyday for young cams and,,,as the get older and their feeding schedule lightens up to every second day or so then obviously they wont be getting it every day!!!
BTW,,,Im loving Repashy Bug Burger,,,thinkin of adding Dino Fuel to my gutload regimine,,,and was considering the Repashy Calcium Plus as well,,,,my question is,,,,does that have d3 in it and if so,,,,could you OD your cham with D3???

A vitamin free calcium and mineral supplement will be what you use most. and a vitamin product (including D3) you will need less often.

But How you specifically supplement will depend on many factors. THERE IS NO ONE FIXED SCHEDULE THAT FITS ALL SITUATIONS.

To illustrate my point:
  • If you are offering a well gutloaded terrestrial isopod or butterworm, NO supplement of any kind is required.
  • If you are offering a cricket or superworm, even if it is well gutloaded, a light calcium dusting is a good idea. If these are poorly gutloaded, a vitamin supplement may also be required (but not every bug, every time).
  • If your chameleon goes outside a lot, it will have far less need for a D3 supplement than one that doesnt go outside in natural light.
  • The brand of supplement is also important - some are far more potent than others!
  • the TYPE of chameleon also matters - some need far less supplementation than others
If you offer a WIDE variety of feeder prey (at least 5 choices, preferably more, with no single prey choice making up more than 50% of the diet and preferably no single prey choice making up more than 20%) and gutload properly, you will need to use far less artificial supplementation. Supplements should be supplementary to a good diet.

My advice to everyone: only supplement when such is needed, not according to some arbitrary, unthinking, fixed daily routine
