Switch to Feeding Cup?

Is it ok for me to switch from just letting my crickets go free and letting luchador catch them to having them in a feeding cup?

The reason i ask is i just want to be able to keep up with how many he is actually eating? And because i cant figure out how to get him to eat superworms cause they wont fit on his branch and he cant get them off the bottom of the cage. Also is it ok that i dont have a dripper constantly going in his cage? I spray his cage every 2-3 hours and he is not dehydrated on always has white tails on his droppings.

Oh yeah male sambava around 7 months old.

Perfectly fine. He may refuse to eat for a few days tho, so dont freak out if he's stubborn. He'll eat when he's hungry enough.

A dripper doesn't have to be constantly going, however, having one on for an hour or two a day is never a bad idea.

thanks for the info.
And im starting to get mad, well i mean impatient i want to see some bright colors but ive heard sambava's take longer so i guess il wait. I just hope he looks like his dad El LOBO

ill try and get some tomorrow he is hit or miss on if he will be ok with me holding him. He is fine one day then is aggrivated the next lol. But he does not have any yellow or orange like his dad he is just all green

I too have heard Sambava take the longest to reach full colour. 7 months is early. You should see his colour at the one year mark.

No harm in cup feeding. You can do both - cup feed most of the time and free-range when time / opporunity permits

Sambavas are usually more yellow and orange when they're fired up. If you look at el lobo on the kammers website they have a picture of him when he's green and not fired up. He's only all yellow like that when el lobo is fired up.
