Hello everyone i need some advice on t5 lighting for my panther chameleon and if its ok to use some people say its fine but every breeder i talked to said no way! Can u please help! Give details please!

I have used T5 lighting on all of my chams and they are the recommended lighting on this forum. I use these fixtures with 3 x 6500K plant bulbs and 1 x ReptiSun 10.0 UVB bulb. The chams are happy, healthy, and beautiful.

Most on here recommend the Arcadia 6% bulbs from light your reptiles. I have never used them, but this fixture is one of the best for the money in my opinion. I have been using them for years on fish aquariums and reptiles alike.

Ok sounds good can u let me know why breeders and reptile shops would say never to use t5 and only use t8 5.0 bulbs?

I think it dates back to issues with products a number of years ago. I'm not sure about that assumption though...

Is there any benefit to using t5 ho lighting vs the regular t8 bulbs and whats better the arcadia t5 6 percent or zoomed t5 5.0? Details please

T5 bulbs are more intense than T8. You get more output with fewer watts. The Arcadia 6% is the better bulb. I actually use the reptisun 10.0. I have been told that it is more comparable to the Arcadia 6%. Either will work for you though. Many members here use the reptisun 5.0.

Is there a thread or a forum here that i can some different setups of the t5 fixtures and a forum discussion?

the difinitive lighting thread might be good place to start. use the search function, very many different threads.

i use t-8 for my chameleon and they seem to work great for me i use the reptisun 5.0. but idk about t5 cause they put out a higher intensity
