Table for enclosure

Hey there,

I'm currently in the waiting/planning stage of getting a chameleon, and I'm thinking about a shortish table that I'd put the juvenile enclosure on at first, but it would be large enough to hold an adult 24x24x48 cage afterwards.

I looked at metro shelves which tend to run 24x18 or something. I suppose a little overhand wouldn't be too bad since the enclosure is fairly light.

What do you guys do with your adult enclosures?

I bought tables at Ikea that were like $15 bucks and hold a 24 X 24 X 48 nicely. They are just plain black with four legs. Nothing fancy. Here is an old pic I posted of the room I did and the tables the cages are setting on. I cannot even say if they still carry them but maybe they will have something similar.

Yesss! I've seen those at ikea and I have something very similar myself already. I feel like I just needed to see it in use to be convinced. Thanks!

You can find cheap end tables if you look around.
You want your cham cage elevated so he is looking slightly down on you when in his basking position.

They feel more secure when they are higher up then you.

I just use cheap folding tables that are height adjustable.

For a 4' cage, I use about 26'' high table.
Basking spot is about 12'' from the top of the cage, so they are above my standing eye level.

I use these black anodized aluminum stands their not $15 but depends on what you want to invest.

Look on craigslist. I found a cabinet that fits the dimensions of my enclosure perfectly. It was only 25 bucks. That way I can put the bucket and pump and everything in the cabinet and its hidden and neat looking.

Also search for fish tank/aquarium stands. I found one of these at the pet store that would have fit perfect as well but it was sold as a tank/stand combo unfortunately.
