taking chameleon outside

So I was walking and my neighbor was sitting on the grass with a potted plant next to him. Turns out there was a chameleon on the plant. Is this healthy? It was a minnesota summer day, so around 60% humidity and 80F. I thought it seemed really funny and cool but now it seems like a bad idea. The chameleon was a sambava panther male.

I take my guy out in the sun whenever I'm home and theres sun out. Aslong as they don't overheat being directly in the sun all is good. Sun is good

Its a great thing to take them outside!
One of the most benificial things for them:)
Like Chamifornia said, you just have make sure they have shade they can get to, and either watch them, or cage them so birds and such dont carry them off.;)
My guys get sun everyday that its appropriate outside.

Just be-careful of this one thing. Birds of prey ( Believe me, i know ) will spot any small creatures and pick them off if you are not looking. I work with raptors, training them and caretaking for them.
Same goes with cats, and sometimes dogs.
Always stay near your reptile and make your presence known.

Well played! haha no, sadly!

God that would be a dream job, working with the largest reptiles ever to exist!! Win.

I work with hawks, owls, falcons, and an eagle.

Ditto! One of the BEST things you can do for them or any diurnal reptile. The amount of UV they get from their artificial lights pales in comparison to what they get in just 20 minutes of sunlight.

Still seems like a cool job:)
JP just popped into my head when I read that:p
I could just picture the scene where they are unloading the raptor, and the guy gets eaten:p
-_-Not so sure that would be a great job:rolleyes:
Ok yes it would.

My brother was talking about how he wanted a falcon, and how they can be trained and what not. Sounded interesting.
Im not a bird fan at all. Too messy.
