Talking to you Cham

Does anyone talk to their cham? I was talking to mine, and my husband mentioned that it might just scare him, instead of making him feel comfortable like I was hoping it would. :confused:What do you think? Does talking to your cham make them happy, calm? Does it annoy them? Or do the not really seem to care?

Don't we all talk to our chams?

I play soft jazz on the guitar, and the chams come to the door of thier cages and watch. Mabey they like it? Mabey they don't? They don't show signs of stress, so I take that as a yes.;)

I talk to my chams, it seems to just confuse or "distract" them while im doin' whatever it is that im doin' in their cage. As soon as they realize im trying to pick them up or do something around or nearby them they go back to trying to look big and bite my hand off. If your chams arent aggressive i would say you would have better luck with it. The only thing is that maybe it would scare your cham if your too close and they see a lot of TEETH coming at them lol

I talk to mine too! I even say goodnight to her when her lights go out! It's kind of sad that they can't hear though.:(

I talk to them, ha ha, they can hear us:D They just want us to think that they are deaf!!! Don't fall for it! its a trick!!! ;)

I sing a song when it is feeding time. I think they can at least feel the vibrations from the speech or singing as he comes to get ready for food even before I grab his food container. He doesn't always get fed the same time.

Yes of course i talk to cham, n i like to think he talks to me in hes own lil way lol.
He'll come out of his cage when he wants to go toilet, coz he doesnt want to do it in his "home".
He'll huff-puff a lil when hes not happy like to tell me to turn the lights out when he wants to sleep and im still on the computer, so i have to sit in the dark obviously cham comes first! :p
Cham and i may not have the most fluid of conversations but im sure in some funny way he understands some of the things i say to him, even if its just the different tones coming from the vibrations of my voice.

I talk to them....... but I am well aware they have NO idea what I am saying.

One thing to be aware of, they don't hear, but feel vibration. I imagine that some talking, tones or volumes will be felt and might make them uncomfortable. So when I am holding my chams, I try not to talk or yell to the next room.

ok NOW am gonna sound sad:D
when my boy goes to bed i blow a kiss and say night night
i say good morning baby when he wakes up
throgh out the day im always saying heloo baby are you ok my Mista man

:DThis 'Chameleonitis' is such a great thing to suffer from! It's good to know that everyone else on here is suffering from the same thing too!:p My Mum has it too - she reckons that Lily listens to her when she talks to her cos she cocks her head to one side like she's listening!

they do not have a structure to hear audible sounds, but may be able to feel more sound waves than we can.
