Hey all. Just finished these two enclosures today for my beasties. They're a mixture of live plants, natural wood, artificial vine, and artificial plants. I know the female looks neglected, thats because sadly she was for a long time until I rescued her. Any tips or advice on how to bounce a chameleon back into shape would be appreciated. The male is one I rescued a couple of months ago and is in great shape, he just hates when I mist his enclosure. I just put him in today and he keeps trying to claw his way out of the top of the viv. Is this normal? Will he stop this after a few days?

It looks great overall!

Your chameleons will slowly 'recover' back into health with time as long as they are properly cared for. Other than checking with a vet if they have any diseases, you should use supplements I recommend repashy calcium plus.

In terms of enclosure: what are the dimensions?

The enclosure size for my male is 4x2x2 and for my female its 3x2x1.75. I am currently alternating between nutrobal and d3 free calcium. Then a d3 and calcium mix twice a month.

The female looks like she might have eggs? Do you have a bin in there for her? Also maybe some type of mouth rot or growth and her right eye does not look right. Does she have any bumps on the bridge of her nose? If so, they are usually some type of abcess caused by sinus infections. They are connected to the eyes and cause problems.

The person I got her from told me she was egg bound so has had her reproductive system taken away hence the scar on her bottom. The cleft lip I was told was caused by a fall but I'm fast coming to the conclusion that this is not the case. I will look up ainua and eye infections. She has no strength in her and can barely climb to her basking spit and often falls when going from vine to bush. When she basks she often sits on top of her back legs, these seem to have the least strength. I suspect she hasn't had a heat lamp for the majority of her life. What sort of side effects does this cause aside from massive growth and digestion problems? And what can I do to help her along aside from what I'm already doing ?
