Hi all,
So I realized this week that I have now had my female veiled for just over 6 months. I know most people change their UVB bulbs around the 6-month interval.
Upon going to my local PetSmart, I found they only carried a few sizes of T8 Reptisun bulbs. I have the ZooMed Reptisun LED/UVB hood which requires a 22" T5 bulb. Waste of a trip to the pet store
I decided to settle on a ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 compact bulb and a Mini Deep Dome fixture for the time being. These two cost about the same as what they charge locally for a single T5 bulb.
Problem is, I realize the light will only emit for a short distance. If I place the fixture near my basking fixture, will that be fine for the time being? I plan to order an Arcadia T5 bulb online, as trying to locate one here is a nightmare.
Also, as a side note: ZooMed claims their T5s only need changing after 12 months if used for 10-12 hours a day. Does that mean my bulb is still good for another 6 months? If so, I may just return the CFL/fixture I bought today.
Thanks in advance for your help.
