tempted to purchase a jackson!

Hey all ! recently i have been doing research on jackson chameleons and they really have intrigued my interest ! I was thinking about purchasing one but theres two issues.

1. i have no expierence and little knowledge of these guys . i have read the caresheets but i dont think its enough for me to be able to keep one stable. i have only owned veileds.

2. The jacksons that i saw was at petco and i know that is shunned upon here greatly . i just saw that thread where ww3 broke out and i dont want to support them after what i learnded recently.

so any thoughts? are jacksons more tough to care for ? i have owned veileds , both females, before. i know that supplements are different and they give live birth , (which is nuts) but any tips you guys can give me ? Any notable breeders or websites that focus on this speices? if i mess with the jackson will i get the horns? (crappy pun)
thanks !

I have my jax for a year now and I don't think he's tougher to care for compared to my panther...
I keep my panther the same way as I do my jax, on with just small differences in basking and misting.

The only big difference is that the temperature drop at night (to around 59F) is more important to a jax than it is to a panther or veiled.

I love my Jax! He's laid back and easy to work with. He's my first and only chameleon. I've had him since Christmas and haven't had any problems with him, he's growing like a weed. Having said that, I went through several environment upgrades until I got his where I like it. Also, I live on the Gulf Coast and our humidity is normally 50-60%.

They are a little tougher than veiled do to their supplemental, and humidity needs, but I find them very hardy as adults. If you have already taken care of veiled you should do just fine. However do to their humidity needs I would definitely consider a auto mister, and I would not recommend breeding the young are really hard to get past the 4-5 month mark for some reason.
