Great shots! If anything I would increase the aperture up a a few stops to get a little more depth of field out of the shot. Also, zoom back so the area of interest is within the focal range.

What lens did you get?

Oh and practice means you have to post pictures every night. That's the only way we'll know you're heading in the right direction.
