The Chameleon Formerly Named "Reno"

Here is a recent picture of my female ambanja. She WAS named "Reno" when I believed her to be a male. Now I call her "Peach", and she is a very sweet cham. She steps onto my hand readily and is very calm.
Male chams get most of the attention because of their striking coloration. Our female chams need to be recognized too. I'm glad I kept Peach.

Aw so pretty! I was initially put off a female as a 1st chameleon because of inexperience with chams in general and then the added stress of laying and such - but I'd be happy to try a female in future! Plus all these great coloured chams make Colin look boring!!

Me too!

I too am glad you choose to keep her, she is such a cute female! But indeed as we thought she is female. Thank you for posting.... my how she has grown already! ;)

Females are beautiful!

Peach is so pretty and I love her name! My first cham was a female and I loved her to bits. As long as you do plenty of research and are aware of the females' additional needs then you should be fine! My latest female shows a lot of colour and gives my Tommy a run for his money in that respect! Amy is always bright green with turquoise and orange markings - she is very pretty! Tommy is a mix of darker green, yellow and brown.

Great Looking female. We have a male ambanja that would love to see her up close! ;) Too bad you are so far away!!

She's a beautiful female! I'd love to get a girl (not to breed, just for the sake of how cute they are), but I wouln't know where to put her in my tiny apartment.

Thank you. I'm a newbie and Peach is my first chameleon. I wanted a male but that's not how it turned out. I have concerns about when she lays eggs, but several forum members have said they would help me get through the process.

No, but I am going to now. Thanks for sharing that link. I was told she may not lay eggs, so I hope that's the way it turns out.

No problem! This technique makes a big difference most of the time. If you're careful she may never produce eggs at all. I only have a female veiled to try this with but so far she hasn't produced anything and she's gaining weight at a slow and steady pace. So it's worth trying, so hopefully you can avoid the stress of egg-laying! :)

Here is our little guy's album, he is now in his yellow stage (latest pics taken in early fall), but you can see how he has been through so many stages so far!

We could start a dating service on here. Instead of E-harmony we can call it C-Harmony. Definitely a higher male to female ratio though :p Instead of free communication weekends, we could have free range weekends! lol

I was clearly up all night writing an essay for my English class.
Gotta love university...Gotta love Chamforums!!

Deliriously tired,
Trish :)
