the chameleon tail

i have a male veiled chameleon. over the past couple months i have noticed a change in the color on the back of tail where he grips along the inside of the curl. it almost looks as if it is bruised and a dark blackish grey color. i thought maybe it was just dirty at first but he shed and it was underneath as well. does anyone know what this is or if its bad?

Can you post a picture please. Some chameleons have a different color on the underside of the tail.
