The Yellow-lip Parson's are starting to hatch...

This morning (11/27) there were two more babies, and one head poking out. So, including the one that's not totally out of the egg, that makes 12 so far...

When she finally laid eggs for me a few weeks after I'd received her, and I called my vendor to let him know the good news, all he said was, "Are you serious????" The disbelief in his voice was palpable. So, I was then convinced it was all just a sales pitch and he didn't really believe she was gravid in the first place. That or he didn't think she'd lay successfully.

There is a huge difference between not believing an animal is gravid and being surprised the animal successfully laid the clutch so soon after import. Surprise can be genuine in both situations.

Did the female survive?

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone, much appreciated!

We're up to 26 hatchlings as of this morning (Thursday). Haven't lost a baby so far, they're all doing well. We'll see I suppose.

I've been feeding them hydei, melanogaster, and 1/8" crickets. Might experiment with baby roaches in the coming weeks.

Best regards,
Sam

I hope you have not got a problem with me posting these on your thread. However these are some photo's of your pregnant/gravid female Yellow Lip Parsonii (the "Mom") who laid this clutch from one of my past visits to your place. She is very plump! I sent some extra photo's of her to your email.
